Bruff Bluegrass Music Festival Fri Sept 30^th to Sunday 2nd October 2011

With everything from Buckaroo Donkey Races,  Pig Roasts, music morning noon and night, and picking sessions of the greatest quality, this third year’s festival looks like the greatest yet, and establishes Bruff Bluegrass Festival

as the best of its type.  From Friday 30th September to Sunday 2nd October. Bruff organisers are following a policy of inviting the best authentic Bluegrass musicians national and international to build the festivals growing reputation.

One of the organisers Jack Clancy, proprietor of Clancy’s Bar in Bruff, said “there are one or two other Bluegrass Music Festivals but they have a little authentic bluegrass and it is diluted with folk and country and western. We host only the best authentic bluegrass.”  Last year people travelled from all over Ireland and many other European countries to attend the festival. The festival ‘picks’ off on Friday evening at 8.00 pm with music in all the pubs; admission is free to all venues!  Sunday will see the buckaroo donkey races at about 5.30 pm. A unique feature of the Bruff  Festival will be the Free Workshops throughout the weekend for all aspiring musicians.
